Kanye West is proud of the fact that he doesn't read.
From the article:
"Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed"
"I am a proud non-reader of books. I like to get information from doing stuff like actually talking to people and living real life," he said.
West, a college dropout, said being a non-reader was helpful when he wrote his book because it gave him "a childlike purity."
Does he think his late mother, an English professor, would be proud of those statements? Writing on a child's level is not something to brag about. He's always been a critic of higher education (listen to his album "College Dropout" and you'll know what I mean), but to actually criticize the act of reading is really disappointing.
What a crappy role model.
